It is a whole new year for Furrow, who is 10 months old now. It has been a chilly month with lots of frost on the ground, but it has not bothered Furrow. Furrow loves getting out to investigate in these early mornings when the ground is still frozen and covered in frost. His nose just goes into high gear, sniffing every which way. You can actually hear the air going into his nose as his olfactory system is working in overdrive. After these early morning walks, Furrow looks so happy and refreshed, but I know he is tired from all his scenting, so after getting a big refreshing drink of water, he settles down on his cozy bed for a long snooze and lots of loud snoring.

Next week, Furrow will be getting the important and exciting experience of living in a new environment with 2 other raisers for two weeks. It is important for PADS dogs to be able to adapt to new living environments. This will be Furrow’s first experience being away from me for more than just a few hours. I am excited for him. In exchange, I will have these raiser’s PADS dog for two weeks, so it is a puppy swap. A new experience for us all!

I added two photos. Furrow and my cat (Soda) are best of buds. They like to snuggle with each other when they are not playing together. Furrow decided he was going to join Soda for a nap on the warm blanket, and he ever so gently moved his chin so it rested on her tail. The love of touch between friends!

Take care and chat again next month,
Tracy & Furrow (hugs)
