Dear Family and Friends of Grant,

We can’t believe the month has passed already. So much growth for Grant in such a short time. He is developing into a fine, sensitive little gentleman. He has made pup friends with Digger and Tzar; it is such fun for all of us to witness their enjoyment of play. We celebrated his arrival with ice cream at the beach. He has been up the mountain for new sniffs and views from great heights. The only chair he was invited to sit in was too big for him, which doesn’t seem fair. We will try again when he is bigger.

Grant likes to meet new people and is very polite. He is so brave, while I was startled when a little garden snake crossed my foot, and he responded like a real hero. What is it? I’m here for you, don’t worry. Courage is defined as running toward what everyone else is running from.

He is such a character playing little harmless tricks and organizing his stuff in just a certain way. His night-time stuffy is a squirrel. He takes it out of bed in the morning, drags his blanket out and travels down the hall with them in short relays because he can’t carry both at once. It’s so sweet. He is very particular about other things as well. I throw his floaty toys into the wading pool, and he gives me this look, and then goes to get them out. He is always eager to learn and willing to help with everything that is going on. He has learned to bring me the leash when he wants to go for a walk.

This week, we are practicing to drop into a down position when pursuing something he wants in full charge. A hard but necessary skill of self-control, and he is up to it.
