November was another month of firsts…Libby had her first birthday, which she celebrated in style with a fancy hat, a pup-cake and cookies! She also started her first heat cycle, which meant a month of lying low and lots of cuddle time.
Libby had her first class puppy swap as she went off with another raiser for a couple of weeks to build on her skills to adapt to change and become the best dog ever — such a valuable experience for the PADS pups in training.

Bonus sitting pupdate!!!
Our puppy partakes in puppy swaps with other raisers in our class cohort. And this round, I was paired with little Libby!!! This spunky girl had to adjust quickly, as after being in my house for one day (with a cat and a new dog to get used to), we packed up for a weekend trip. What a surprise for this girl, as when we arrived in Pemberton, we were greeted by 5 more labradors! SO MUCH FUN!!! The dogs spent lots of time playing and walking through the fields, watching us humans as we tended to the horses and other farm chores, and kenneling while we went riding. Libby was a star through it all.
On our next weekend, we headed on a ferry ride to visit friends on Pender Island, so a new house and 3 new cats to get used to. Again, this girl settled in beautifully and enjoyed a bonfire party from the comfort of her own comfy bed.
Training outings included – shopping at a grocery store, going to a Christmas market, attending our PADS Christmas party, and sleeping at a restaurant. Super fun times were had training alongside PADS Meadow and Andie at a local recreation center. Also, a busy, fun afternoon with PADS Minnie, Saphira, and Royal, going to a restaurant and then IKEA.
We thoroughly enjoyed having this girl for the past 2.5 weeks – best of luck, sweet girl! Keep up the good work!!!
