Hi friends! Lyriq here with my April pupdate!
This month was full of sunshine, fun, and some great learning moments. Over the Easter long weekend, I got to hang out with some tiny humans. They were really fun and kind of unpredictable, which made it a great time for me to practice being gentle and calm. I think I did pretty well!
I also went to a barn craft sale, and wow, so many people! A lot of them admired me from afar (I mean, who can blame them?), and I got to practice staying focused even when people wanted to come and say hi. I’m still working on not getting too excited when meeting new folks—it’s just so hard when everyone seems like a new best friend!
The weather has been amazing—so warm it feels like summer already. That means I’ve been doing lots of off-leash walks and working on my recall. I’ve heard I’m getting close to something called “advanced training,” so I’ve been working hard to sharpen all my skills. We’re especially focusing on not getting distracted by other dogs (they just look like they’d be such fun to play with!) and not licking people when I meet them.
I’m feeling pretty proud of myself these days. Thanks for cheering me on!
Tail wags,
🐶 Lyriq
