ABOUT PADS

PADS dogs are raised and trained on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded lands of the Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), Səl̓ílwətaʔ (Tsleil-Waututh), and xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) Nations.

We acknowledge the importance of these lands and their history. We do this to reaffirm our commitment and responsibility in improving relationships between nations and to improving our own understanding of local Indigenous peoples and their cultures.

We breed, raise and train fully certified assistance dogs. Our service (mobility & PTSD) and hearing dogs provide life-changing independence to those with disabilities. Our accredited facility dogs work with community professionals, such as teachers, RCMP and psychologists to help support healthy communities.

PADS is a fully accredited member of Assistance Dogs International.

PADS Radar II has been making a real impact as an Accredited Facility Dog at St Michael’s University School. His partner reports that wherever Radar goes, people want to meet him and ask all about him. His friendly, gentle soul makes him the perfect addition to the personal counselling office, where he offers support to students who need him.

Three more good girls join the Advanced Training Team 💖

Last month, the Calgary Advanced Team welcomed Blair, while Asti and Maeve joined the Burnaby Advanced Team. Congratulations and thank you to everyone who has helped these dogs on their life-changing journeys so far!

Nine new fans have joined the village - give a cheer for the Vancouver Whitecaps FC Litter ⚽

Proud parents PADS Athena and Steller are pleased to introduce brothers Boomer III, Blanco, Gaffer, Max, and T-Bone, and their sisters Goaldie, Sammy, Tattor, and Tide.

Thank you to the 'Caps for nominating names, and to everyone who donated to vote for the final nine.

And another big thank you to the support team, Breeder Caretakers Ruth and Ron, for being on-side.

This puppy's gift? Changing lives 💖

Join us in welcoming PADS Pandora from @freedomservicedogs in Colorado. She met her new Puppy-Raiser, Melissa, last month and has begun her journey to becoming a life-changing assistance dog.

Fun fact: Pandora's dad is our very own PADS Steller! Can you see the resemblance?
