This month, Mango II spent half of his time at campus and is now with a long-term sitter! While on campus, we continued working on desensitizing with eye drops and worked on enforcing his wait at thresholds, especially when he is off-leash in a home setting so he does not “bolt” for the door. Mango went on a field trip to Burquitlam plaza. When he was handler-focused, he was on point, and there were a few times when he was overstimulated and would pull ahead or get too excited when meeting people. He is now with a long-term sitter until there is a spot on a trainer’s string. Mango is loving his time with his long-term sitter, where they will work on his prey drive, bolting, dog and smell distraction and duration skills. His sitter loves his calm demeanour in the house and that he generally conducts himself in public. They have gone on many field trips already, and there will be many more! 🙂 Yay, Mango!
