April was only slightly less wintry than March in Calgary. Fortunately, Maren has no problem playing in the snow. The snow subsided enough for a play date with her buddies Astro and Chorcha, always a fun time for everyone.

Maren accompanied us to an appointment at the South Health Campus. She behaved beautifully, expertly demonstrating her “off” switch for the time we were there. Maren showed off her “go in” at lunch with my sister, and was so well behaved that her presence wasn’t noticed until we got up to leave the restaurant. She also visited grocery stores, the library, Dairy Queen and Starbucks. This girl is a gem in public!

Released PADS Oliver and Duke paid us a visit at the end of the month, and Maren was so excited to see them. She is always happy to welcome human and canine visitors to our home, and proudly shows off her favourite stuffed fish along with an enthusiastic butt wiggle.

She attended the PADS Town Hall, where she again demonstrated her “off” switch. This was a bit harder for her because of the presence of all the other dogs. She had to really work to keep her excitement at bay. It was exhausting for her, and she immediately fell asleep in the car when we headed home.
