Marsh’s Marvellous Month of November.
Marsh here. November was quite a busy month, but there were also lots of opportunities for morning and afternoon naps. At school, I spent time with the kindergarten students, and we had to help them learn the proper way to line up outside during drills. The students all had to stand quietly and I had to sit quietly and watch them lining up.
We love the library, and the older students love seeing me in there. They get to sit down on the floor and fuss over me, but they have to do it quietly because the library is for quiet reading.
I had an extra week off school because of a virus that made some of the teachers sick. Outings on my non-school days included the shopping mall which was decorated with Christmas sparkles. I had to lie down outside the busy donut shop which smelled really good. We visited the hairdresser, a different grocery store and a pet store. In the pet store, I met some fish, some birds and 2 Guinea pigs that mesmerized me, they were cute and playful.
At home, I met lots of new people on different occasions, as it seems like the humans like to entertain and eat and drink. A good excuse for me to say hi and then go for a nap. My days usually consist of practicing cues after breakfast, napping, going for walks, napping, outings, and napping. I like my sleep and love my comfy beds. Sometimes I nap alone and sometimes I nap with Haiku. I think my friends would call me a super snuggler because I love to be touched and get ear scritches and tummy rubs.
I practice lots of cues and know quite a few but every month I learn a new one. This month, I learned one called ‘out’ where I have to wait at the door and then go out on cue. Apparently, I’m getting quite good at it as long as the cat isn’t waiting on the other side of the door.
Last night I went for a walk around a lake that was lit up with millions of lights, and it was lots of fun. Walks in the dark are something we do now in the evenings, and it’s been rather cold, but I don’t mind it. I’m told that next month is going to be very exciting, and I’m looking forward to it.
