Another month down, and Iโ€™m getting so close to my first birthdayโ€”itโ€™s hard to believe!

June started with a glowing sit report from sitter Jo, following my stay with her at the end of May. She said I had fantastic loose leash walking skills, showcased exceptional calmness around cats and horses, and was a pleasure to care for. That made my raisers very happy! My first big outing of the month was tagging along for an early Fatherโ€™s Day celebration with my raisers and their family. We went out for dinner on a busy patio and then caught a comedy show at the Improv Theatre on Granville Island. Live theatre was a new experience for me. I did manage to settle in and even caught a few zzzโ€™sโ€”until a loud noise from the stage woke me up. How rude!

Next up was a big adventure to the Vancouver Aquarium with my puppy class and cohort trainer, Chelsea. I got super excited as my classmates started showing up outside, but I was able to switch into work mode. I showed great focus on my raiser and handled the very busy environmentโ€”filled with kids, strollers, people, and pupsโ€”with calm and confidence. We even caught the sea lion show, but my favourite part was watching the jellyfish!

On the less thrilling side, I experienced my longest โ€œsettleโ€ yet: a two-and-a-half-hour strata AGM meeting. Wow… talk about boring. I snoozed right through it!

We wrapped up the month with a lovely extended long weekend. I enjoyed an off-leash walk on a local trail with PADS Indy and PADS Meadow and visited the Spanish Banks dog beach. It was a gorgeous sunny day with lots of dogs and the perfect opportunity to practice my recall in a high-distraction environment. Not to brag, but I nailed it! Even while playing with a group of pups from a dog walker, I responded beautifully when I started to drift a little too far away. It was so much fun running on the sand and through the water, and I was so tired afterwards.

Thanks for checking in with me!
