This month, Morley met up with his buddy PADS Astro at a local grocery store. Not only did Morley have to behave himself in public, he had to behave around his friend. Unsurprisingly, he rose to the occasion and practiced duration and ‘go in’ in a new environment. Afterwards, he got rewarded with an off-leash walk and play session.
Both Morley and Shah attended the RCMP Veterans Association Golf Tournament in support of PADS. Unfortunately, the rain prevented anyone from golfing, but they had a great time getting muddy and meeting a lot of fun people.
We had a few current and former PADS dogs move through the house this month, including PADS Brinks, Teddy (released) and Mero (released). Fun times were had by all, and it provided the opportunity to re-enforce house manners.
Training-wise, Morley continues to prove what he knows, and we are re-visiting rear foot targeting with more movement on my part and moving this to a doorway in preparation for him learning how to tug open doors. He is also working on the early stages of learning formal retrieve. This boy loves learning and is having a blast learning new skills.
