Happy birthday to me! I turned one this month and had so much fun celebrating my birthday! My bestie Golly came over to play and share the day and some birthday cookies with me. Our community mentor threw a summer volunteer party, and we celebrated a few of us turning one with lots of our friends and pupsicles and no end of playing!
Summer had brought lots of new adventures and outings. Golly and our raisers took us to Playland for a special evening, there were so many lights and people and new noises. But everyone said we were so good, even with all the yummy smells and popcorn on the ground, I had lots of practice “leaving it”!
With all the hot weather, my raiser is making sure I’m getting lots of time in nice shady trails and finding lots of swimming holes. My swimming is getting a little better, and I’m still not the best swimmer, but I’m getting better, and I finally took my feet off the ground to lots of cheering! I would rather balance on logs and jump over things than swim any day!
On the days it’s just too hot to walk outside, we put on my cape and head down to a mall and walk on the nice cool floors with air conditioning, browse in stores and practice settling in a coffee shop. I’ve even had a few naps in change rooms, the floors are so nice and cool, and shopping is tiring business!
I also got to visit a stable and meet horses and goats for the first time! The new smells were great, but I’m not sure what to make of this big guy. My raiser said I was really relaxed, just taking it all in, and I just thought he was a big PADS friend!
