December is a month to enjoy family, see beautiful lights, and eat treats. Myra excelled in all three endeavors! For the first week of the month, she got to spend with momma Betty, which was fun for both doggos and a great opportunity to learn to take turns with training. Christmas festivities included meeting Santa and attending two PADS Christmas parties, where she impressed everyone with her attentive and sweet nature.
Myra got to experience her first flight and imagine her surprise to find out that we were also transporting her sister Mabel to her raiser in Calgary! Much happy bitey-face reunion time ensued in our aisle of the plane. In Calgary, there were lots of opportunities to play tug (her favorite!) with different family members, but she also got to practice staying calm and settled with the hustle and bustle in a full house.
Lots of training as usual – learning to move between sit-down-stand and around a perch pot. Learning to settle when out at appointments or restaurants. Learning good off-leash behaviours and appropriate play with other dogs. We love hitting the trails and making new friends with lots of current and released PADS dogs. On one walk, we were in a pack of 11 dogs, and Myra did fantastic – keeping up with the big dogs, crossing creeks, going over ladder bridges, and not minding the pouring rain! If she just didn’t eat the entire forest, she would be a 10/10 (lol)
