Myra kicked off this month by going on a 2-week swap with another raiser! It’s a fantastic opportunity to see and experience different things, all while working with a different handler. She even got to go on a trip to Birch Bay!!

Other outings this month were watching a pickleball class, going to a brewery, and a group trip to IKEA with buddies Meadow, Allan, and Hara. Myra got to go on her first camping trip and absolutely loved it. Doesn’t hurt that there were some seasoned camping buddies there to show her the ropes (Folie, Electra, Tesla, Jones). She even got to meet her first bear!!!

Training-wise, we have started really introducing ‘side’, stillness with her ‘stand’, and working on increasing durations. One puppy class was a trip to a dog park – we obviously forgot to take off Myra’s earmuffs as she sure couldn’t hear us calling her back! She normally is quite good, but this outing was just too much fun.

But the best news of the month – well, two pieces of good news. First – she gets MORE FOOD!!! This little skinny weed is growing, and she is happy with the new feeding arrangement. Secondly – she got a big brother!!! We welcomed Jones to the family (released from advanced training). He is a great, calm mentor, and puts up with her goofiness. They adore each other.
