What a fun month November has been! Myra had one final week to be ‘big sister’ to the Winter Holiday puppies before they left to meet their raisers and start their training. We wish them all the best and can’t wait to see what their futures hold, and know that mama Betty is going to enjoy some well-deserved downtime as well. Her dedicated training did suffer a bit as I was so busy with the puppies, so now that they are gone, we can really kick it into high gear again!

We have gone on lots of outings to train in various public places – such as Home Depot (where she was not spooked by a mouse that ran over her foot), a pet store (where she thought I should buy a fish tank), BestBuy (where she consulted on my new laptop purchase), and the mall with PADS Meadow (settling with a bestie is hard but an important skill to practice!)

The definite highlight of the month was attending a Remembrance Day ceremony in Maple Ridge. Myra, with fellow PADS recruits Meadow and Pixie, was on their absolute best behaviour, and many people commented on how nice it was to see them there. Maybe one of these PADS dogs will graduate as a service dog for a veteran in the future?
