Nova has been settling well into our new home. She has found that she loves the landing of the stairs the most as she gets to oversee all the actions of the house. We have never had stairs before, so interestingly, she adopted that spot. We have loved living in a small town — Nova (and PADS) have been getting a lot of attention as people have never heard about PADS or know much about the service dog-in-training process out here. We think Nova is a pretty excellent ambassador, and people are always wowed by her demeanour and beauty.

She was also back in the classroom to teach an ELL summer camp for students from China. They were even more mind-blown about the role of service dogs here in Canada. Two of these students also stayed with us, so Nova got used to having two teenagers around the house.

Other than that, we continue to do day-to-day adventures with her. Of course, the best friend bond between her and Selah grows exponentially, and if you see one roaming around, you are sure to see the other. We have been working on fine-tuning her skills and going through public access tests in different environments to continue to see what areas she needs support in.
