Buongiorno! Mi chiamo Poppy. Piacere. We are learning to speak Italian – can you tell? It’s so much fun. My raiser keeps repeating the words over and over and then stops and listens to a voice speak to her. I keep trying to tell her the words, but she doesn’t hear me. It’s so easy for dogs to learn new things, and I hate to brag, but we usually get it right the first time. Not so with humans. I learned I am a cane, pronounced kanay.

We visited Yin, who raised me for my first 8 weeks. I was so happy to see her again and licked her face. I met my mom again too, and Sawyer, so that was so cool, and we played and played.

We spent more time doing off-leash walks running in the woods and into the water. Wow, it was so fun to be with Tobias, Boomer, Electra, Folie, Tessa, Aurora and Aslan. I dunked my head underwater, and what a surprise that was! Then, we all got lined up on a log and had our pictures taken. It was so fun to watch the raisers take photos of us. They definitely had a good time.

We have been practicing a lot of heel, side, bed, perch and good house manners like no counter surfing, no pulling toilet paper off the roll and no stealing my raiser’s glasses. I guess I must be getting older cause these things don’t seem as much fun as they used to when I was younger.

Well, it’s time for bed. As they say in Italy, Arrivederci! A presto! That means goodbye, see you soon. ( Between you and me, I think my raiser should take me with her to Italy because she definitely could use my help speaking Italian! )
