Tis the Season to be . . . . . jolly?
It certainly was, but not quite in the way we expected. After Puzzle did so well at his behavioural assessment, he was invited to undergo a medical assessment. And when he passed with flying colours, he was chosen to, shall we say, rendezvous with some of the PADS ladies. Lucky guy, the jolly fun will continue into the new year.
While we waited for test results and social invitations, we enjoyed a few holiday events, training sessions, and lots of playtime (or so-metimes, recall practice disguised as playtime).
We went to a little neighbourhood holiday market where Puzzle told a lovely couple about his Christmas wishes. That was practice for the much busier event we attended a week later, the annual Christmas Wish Breakfast / Toy Drive at the Pan Pacific Hotel. We didn’t go inside; there was plenty of entertainment and activity happening outside. There was lots of music and noise, presents, big trucks with bright lights, and people in uniforms and costumes. When we needed a break, we took a quiet stroll down the lane of Christmas trees and practiced down duration inside.Β
It wasn’t all fun and games, but a raiser fail did lead to a great training opportunity one day. With an expired driver’s licence in hand, we took the bus to the ICBC service centre and had a long wait without an appointment.
It’s hard to believe that Puzzle has been here for a year. Stay tuned for exciting announcements in the months to come!
