Rainy Junuary slowing us down? Pshaw!

We took the Canada Line train and SeaBus to North Vancouver, planning to explore a museum on a very wet day. But Puzzle and Huckle thought the humans looked soggy, so we went to the public market instead, where the boys practiced their loose-leash walking and settling while the humans ate lunch.

We took lots of bus rides this month and our first Skytrain ride. He’s getting so good at finding his way under the seat, but we need to work on making him smaller. He’s slender and tall; it’s hard to tuck those long legs and big feet out of the aisle!

One of his training classes was a PADS picnic, and wasn’t that an adventure?! To be around other dogs while not actively training or playing is a challenge. But Puzzle quieted down long enough for the human to eat and even got his own treats to take home. And he found his inner artiste as a painter.

We attended an Indigenous peoples’ celebration, where he settled under the shade of a table to watch a singing performance for 25 minutes, and then wandered around to admire arts and crafts, and to say hello to people that he knows from the community centres.

Puzzle enjoyed an adventure-filled weekend with a sitter and released PADS Yoki, driving out to the Fraser Valley to meet and race and chase with other dogs on the trails and in the river. He also became fast friends with three out of Yoki’s four feline roommates. After those amazing days, he is a tired pup!
