Spring is in the air, and Puzzle has a strut in his step – because he is a new PADS DAD!

After all the action in February, we needed a quieter, more routine month. We focused on rest during the human workday and daytime kenneling, an easy ask for Puzzle who loves his kennel time. We wove skills into our daily activities – heels and sides, waits and outs as we entered and exited buildings, loose-leash walking in distracting environments (for this breeding boy, there are lots of distractions, so many things to smell).

Puzzle is now the oldest in his training cohort and is taking his role as a coach seriously. We had a class field trip to Ikea, where he demonstrated nice walking, go-ins, and settling while we waited for others to join the group (and if our trainer didn’t see him tease a younger puppy, did it really happen?).

We attended Vancouver Whitecaps FC matches to promote PADS and put into practice some of the skills he learned about big events. Puzzle went to a human’s physiotherapy appointment for the first time, and went to the University of British Columbia twice, with different sitters. He reunited with his former roommate, PADS Gem II, for an off-leash trail walk/run/jump/race/chase/roll, never standing still long enough to get a good picture!
