We are so excited to welcome PADS Sesame to Advanced Training. His raisers, Lesley and Kristi, have done an amazing job in preparing Sesame for his next step!
We have been reviewing his obedience and working on his dog distraction and default food refusal. Sesame has gone on a few field trips to high-distraction areas to work on dog distractions and handler focus. He is showing improvement in these areas and this will continue to be a focus moving forward for him! He accompanied PADS Rufous to the mall and encountered another working dog at the entrance. Sesame maintained focus on his handler and was unbothered by the other dog. I am pretty proud of him in that moment!
He has been working on rear foot targeting and lateral movement, to help teach him how to move his body. It takes him a few times to understand what is being asked, but once he figures it out, he becomes fluent quickly! I look forward to sharing his progress as he moves through Advanced Training!
