January was a month to focus on some cues that needed tidying up. We are happy to report that Shadow is getting so much better with her heels and sides, as well as her stands! Jump On and Touch are still probably her favourites though. Shadow loves going to puppy class and continues to be an engaged learner. At this age (Shadow turned 1 this month!), we went out with our puppy trainer to a mall where Shadow was able to show where she was at in her training. What she was good at, where she was maybe uncomfortable – is a nice way to touch base on an individual basis with our trainer.
Outings this month were accompanying us on general errands – grocery store, mall visit for lunch in the food court, coffee shops, etc. We had a field trip with one of our puppy classes, and we went to IKEA – a busy place to be and a great experience to practice our manners when our friends are there too!
Last month, I hinted at a surprise that was coming Shadow’s way – and it’s here! I welcomed a breeding girl (PADS Pear) to the house to have her pups. So Shadow gets to have a bestie right here at home. I received many tailwags of approval. 😉
