Shah had a busy month full of public outings! He attended Pet Fest at Spruce Meadows for a couple of days, where he was handled by someone other than his puppy raiser. It took him a few minutes to engage with someone new but quickly realized where the food was coming from. He was amazing being pet by people of all ages and remained calm around young children.
Later in the month, he attended a career day at a local high school. He practiced settling and then was released to ‘go say hi’ to all the students. While he enjoyed visiting, he was always quick to check-in.
This month, we introduced position changes in a ‘heel’ and ‘side’ while ensuring he remains parallel to the handler. This is a bit challenging as Shah likes to make eye contact, but he is making great progress. We are working on improving his tug with the hopes of starting the foundations of retrieve next month.
