Hi everyone! It’s me, Shelby II, popping in with my 7-month-old October adventures!

Things were a little quieter than usual (my Hooman said I had to stay home for a while so “the boys wouldn’t bother me”… whatever that means). So, we made the most out of the days we could go outside.

COWS!

We did things like hiking near the Rocky Mountains—and oh. my. gosh.—I met my very first herd of cows. Like… actual giant, mooing cows! They were absolutely HUGE!!! I was so fascinated, I sat right down and people-watched… uh… cow-watched. They didn’t care at all when we strolled right past them. I think they’re used to being celebrities.

MY FIRST HALLOWEEN!

Halloween turns the whole neighborhood into a strange new world. Monsters everywhere. Glowing things. Spooky noises. And me? I thought it was all absolutely cooo-ool! A couple of decorations made me do a tiny spring-jump at first, but once I realized they weren’t alive (or hungry), I marched around like the Official Halloween Inspector.

Oh—and I got to be a Witch this year … complete with pointy hat and a purple tutu! My Hooman said I was “bewitching” – whatever that means. My favorite stop was Hannah’s house. We got to pose for the Best Halloween Picture Ever!

CREATING NEW ACTIVITIES

Inside, I learned new games like “Find the Kibble.” It was a “yummy fun” time! I also decided to work on my contortionist routine. Apparently, sleeping with your hind leg wrapped around your neck is a thing now. Who knew it was so comfy? (Shhh… I’m going back to sleep.)

TRAINING & THANK-YOUS

My brother, Doane, and I got to meet our brand-new baby half-sister, who joined us in Calgary. She’s tiny but mighty—and clearly takes after us genius siblings. We’re all working hard on becoming super-hero service dogs someday. Every month brings something new to learn, and we’re giving it our very best.

A huge puppy thank-you to the amazing Puppy Trainers who guide me, and the generous Donors and Sponsors who help keep me healthy, my tummy full, and such important training possible! I also want to thank the kind people I meet on the street, in stores, and at the dog park—everyone who patiently waits until my Hooman says “Go See” before we get to greet each other. Your kind words and encouragement are helping me grow into the service dog I’m meant to be!

And Thank “YOU” for following along on my journey. I can’t wait to show you what I learn next month.
