Hi hoomans and fellow four-leggers.

July was pawsitively packed with fun, sun, and skill-building. I kicked off the month by celebrating Canada’s 158th birthday in true patriotic pup style, rocking a red bandana with white maple leaves that my amazing raisers made just for me.

Kelowna sure knows how to turn up the heat. Lucky for me, my raisers got me a paddling pool for the backyard. Let me tell you, there’s nothing like a good splash followed by a case of the zoomies. When I’m not poolside, I’m lakeside at Okanagan Lake, which is just a short trot away, and it’s the perfect spot to cool my belly and practice my doggy paddle.

This month, we hit the trails for some epic hikes and walks. I sniffed out all sorts of wild neighbours: deer, marmots, squirrels, and even quail. I kept my cool, though. No chasing, just curious sniffs and respectful tail wags.

Each week, I have puppy class with the other PADS dogs from the Okanagan, where I get to see how well they’re doing, and I show them how well I’m doing with our skill development. I’ve been working hard on my skills, and I think I’m doing pretty paw-some.

Can you believe summer’s already halfway gone? I’m soaking up every sunny moment and looking forward to August adventures. Maybe I’ll get to go help pick some fruit, though I’m more of a “sniff and supervise” kind of gal. Raisers do the picking, I do the posing.

That’s all for now, folks! Thanks for following my journey. I’ll be back next month with more tail-wagging tales.

Paws and kisses,
Skaha
