Hey fur-fam, itโs ya girl Skaha hereโreporting to you from Kelowna, BC, and officially repping the half-year-old club! Thatโs right, I turned 6 months old on March 25.ย
March was a pawsitively wild ride. First off, I had my last official visit from the tooth fairy. My final puppy tooth came out, and now my shiny grown-up chompers are here to stay. I guess itโs time to find a new hustle for treats and cashโฆ maybe Iโll start a pawcast or become a treatfluencer. Stay tuned.
I went to the pet store for some distraction training. Let me tell yaโsensory overload! There were dogs of all sizes and shapes… and the smells? That place is like a nose-powered amusement park and I did my best to keep myself focused.ย
Out on my walkies and hikes, Iโve been spotting deer.ย They just wander around all free and majestic while Iโm leashed up like a good girl. I mean, what gives?
I also got festive this month for St. Patrickโs Dayโdressed up in green and shamrocks, spreading lucky vibes. I didnโt find any gold at the end of the rainbow, but I did get lots of treats, so close enough.
Now, letโs talk spa time. I had a couple of regular baths (which I love), and then my hoomans surprised me with a trip to this giant bath… except they called it a โcar washโ? It had huge spinning brushes, lots of bubbles and water, and neon lights. It was like a doggy disco party in there. I stayed chill though – cool as a frozen peanut butter Kong.
I added โlibrary pupโ to my growing rรฉsumรฉ. Yep, I visited the library. So many books, so many quiet hoomans.ย I stayed calm, practiced my โsettle,โ and did some serious people-watching while my raisers looked at the paper things.
Training-wise, Iโve been crushinโ it. The weekly puppy class is keeping me sharp. Iโm working hard on things like settling, down durations, perch work, and staying focused even when the world is full of distractions (like squirrels… and other dogs… and floating leaves… you get it).
