November was a month of steady work and new experiences. We went on a field trip to IKEA, where I practiced settling in a busy environment. Settling is actually something I am already quite good at, but having other dogs nearby adds an extra layer of excitement and challenge. It was great practice for me to stay focused and calm, even with those distractions around.

Because I am a fairly big dog, settling under furniture does not come naturally to me. I am not especially fond of squeezing under a chair, which led my mom to introduce some extra under-practice at home. With repetition and patience, I am much better at it.

I also got a new rain jacket this month. Even though it was an XL, it was still a bit snug, which felt both rude and confusing. We will call it a work in progress.

At home, I helped my pawrents put up the Christmas tree early, which still completely boggles my brain. Apparently, they are allowed to bring branches into the house, but I am not. I am still thinking that one through. Despite that, I am a perfect little angel around the tree and did not drop a single ornament.

Overall, November was about building skills, adding difficulty in thoughtful ways, and continuing to grow more confident in different environments.

Happy Holidays,

Sparx
