Spyro joined us on Oct 5 as a wriggly, little 8-week-old bundle of joy and pee puddles. Over the weeks, the wriggles & the joy have increased and the pee puddles have thankfully decreased.
Spyro immediately took on PADS Dior (10 months), in all forms of puppy pouncing, puppy bitey face, attack and run and bed-sharing. It was happily reciprocated by Dior. Spyro’s favourite is to, out of nowhere, make a mad dash across the room, take a swipe at Dior on his way by and dive under the couch. Where he could take further swipes at Dior as she peered under said couch to see if she could get back at him.
Sypro has joined in much of Dior’s training time and has mastered his name, sit and BG. Down and release is coming along nicely. He does well with LLW and has great eye contact. Spyro quickly mastered the stairs, and if in a hurry, will stick his little feet out, straighten his body and slide down the stairs on his belly. He loves to play, but he also really loves his bed and naps. His favourite game in the ‘Double Trouble’ training time is the Really, Real Relaxation game. He generally nods off partway through…
Spyro has slept through the night since night 2. Kennels beautifully, and currently wakes around 6ish for a pee, and then, back to bed for another hour and a half or so.
His excitement to get to and inhale his breakfast has necessitated a makeshift slow bowl in the form of his kibble being divided between the cups of a metal muffin tin. Works lovely. Waiting for permission to eat is a WIP.
Spyro is a ‘curious about everything’ type of guy, and recently discovered that putting one’s head in the opening of a small garbage can lid does not turn out well. He did not panic but calmly walked over to the closest human, and sat down with a look as if to say, ‘This looks like I’m going to need your assistance, please.’
While being at a puppy sitter with his buddy PADS Luigi, he went shopping for Halloween and got himself a Snoopy costume courtesy of his sitter, Sara.
Spyro has enjoyed outings to Potters for their Christmas displays, on a leash and at an off-leash dog park and Hayward Lake.
