Howdy, it’s Stetson! 🐾
March was a month full of new experiences, flexibility, and lots of learning opportunities. One of my raisers was away for a couple of weeks, which meant a change in routine. I took it all in stride, practiced adaptability, and kept my paws moving forward through busy but exciting days.
During the first part of the month, I spent extra time downtown at the office with my raiser. I’ve learned that when my cape comes out and a bag is packed with food and toys, it means I’m heading on duty. Office days are busy but rewarding, and I continue to improve my ability to settle calmly and work in a professional environment.
I also spent a few days and nights with a sitter. I made sure to put my best paw forward and show off my good manners. Since we headed to her workplace early in the mornings, we followed a structured schedule — early to bed and early to rise. I’m proud to report that she said I was one of her favourite pups, and I have to say, the feeling was mutual.
In the second half of the month, my other raiser returned home, and I transitioned back into my familiar routine. After breakfast and some playtime in the mornings, I headed out to practice my public access skills. These outings included trips to the mall and running errands, where I focused on walking nicely, settling calmly, and observing my surroundings. I even overheard a few people comment on how well I was doing, which earned some quiet moments of proud puppy focus.
Some of the places I visited this month included the mall, grocery store, bank, hardware store, and hospital. Each location gave me valuable practice navigating different environments and distractions. I’ve also discovered that I’m especially interested in children — they’re lively and full of energy, and when I see them, my tail tends to wag just a little bit more. I’m learning to notice them calmly and keep my focus while staying polite.
Some of the skills I’ve been working on this month include entering and exiting buildings smoothly, passing people in busy malls and on sidewalks, and greeting people more calmly. Every outing helps me build confidence, focus, and strong working habits.
Overall, March was a great month for learning, growth, and reinforcing my training. I’m proud of the progress I’m making and excited to keep moving forward — one paw at a time.
Paws forward and tail steady — see you next month! 🐾
