February was a month of contrasts—the weather just couldn’t make up its mind! We bounced between warm days and cold snaps, frosty mornings that turned Tattor’s whiskers white, and everything in between. Through it all, Tattor remained her adaptable self, though she’s made it clear she’d still prefer to be outside without her booties on. That said, she’s learned they sure do keep her feet warm when the temperature drops! One of her favourite winter activities continues to be leaping over deep snowbanks—pure joy in motion.

This month brought plenty of outings and new experiences. Tattor joined us at a coffee house where her little humans played piano, settling beautifully after her “go in” command and taking in the cozy atmosphere. We also participated in the YYC Hot Chocolate Fest—a delicious excuse for more socialization practice! We also discovered a new off-leash park at Split Rock Glacial Erratic, and Tattor did a fantastic job checking in with her humans often, showing off her growing recall skills and good judgment.

Family adventures were plentiful, too! Tattor tackled a Costco shopping trip with the whole crew, proving she can handle the hustle and bustle of a busy warehouse store. We even enjoyed a family BBQ at Bowness Park, and of course, Valentine’s Day brought some special goodies her way.

One of the month’s most meaningful outings was accompanying her handler to donate blood with Canadian Blood Services. Tattor settled beautifully and provided quiet support, a glimpse into the kind of facility dog work she’s training for.

The month wrapped up with a trip to Max Bell Theatre to see The Gifted Prince. Tattor settled so nicely during the performance, demonstrating her growing ability to remain calm and focused in public spaces with lots of activity and stimulation.

All in all, February was packed with growth, adventure, and plenty of opportunities for Tattor to practice her skills in real-world settings. She continues to impress us with her adaptability, enthusiasm, and that signature sweet nature. We can’t wait to see what March brings!

Until next month!
