May was a big month for Tattor! She took her very first flight—across beautiful British Columbia and into good ol’ Calgary, Alberta—to meet her puppy raisers and extended family. She’s now settling into a home with four children, which means there’s never a dull moment and always plenty to keep her busy and entertained.
Thanks to the incredible start she received in her amazing breeder-caregiver home, Tattor has adjusted beautifully to her new surroundings. That strong foundation has made her first month with us a smooth and joyful transition—we’re so grateful for the early love and care that PADS puppies receive!
Tattor picked up her nighttime routine quickly and now sleeps through the night like a pro. She’s still in full-on teething mode and will happily sample anything within reach, but the family has quickly learned that playtime always needs to involve a good chew toy—saving lots of fingers and toes in the process!
As we lay the foundations of her training, Tattor has already learned the verbal cue for “sit” and is working on moving confidently between sit, stand, and down. We’re also introducing “bed,” which she’s quickly associating with great things (treats!).
While her flight to Alberta was definitely her biggest adventure so far (thanks to some amazing volunteer escorts!), Tattor has already enjoyed a few local outings. She’s visited the library—much to the delight of the staff—and has become a regular observer at track and field practices. She even had her first day at “work” at her raiser’s school and did wonderfully! With her growing mastery of “It’s Your Choice,” meeting new people has been a positive and manageable experience.
That’s all for now—see you next month!
