This month has been a ton of fun for Taylor II! She has started to put together the full picture of alerting for sounds and continuing to build a drive for sounds. She had quite a few field trips this month, where she is working hard on leaving distractions in her environment and focusing on her handler. She is such a smart lady and really tries hard to impress her trainer Amy.
When she isn’t working, Taylor LOVES to run! She has gotten to go on some off-leash bike rides where she can run at full speed – and boy, is she fast! She also enjoys curling up next to the feet of anyone around where she can relax after a hard day. Next month we are hoping to start adding in some additional sounds for her to learn how to alert to.
- Skills being learned: alerts for sounds, general obedience
- Recent field trips: West Edmonton Mall, Homesense, PetSmart, local dog park
- Possible behavior challenges: Distracted by sights and smells in her environment
- Advanced training location: Calgary
