June was MOVE for PADS month where my raiser and I aimed to complete 300,000 steps to fundraise for PADS and we did it!!! A total of 311,945 steps and $610 raised!
The first half of the month was pretty low-key as I was finishing my first heat, with some long line sniffy walks along Grand Boulevard and got to sniff all of the flowers and stick sculptures, which I really wanted to try but my raiser wouldn’t let me! π I got to spend a couple of weekends with Emme and Kevin while my raiser was away with her Sparks and Guides and a PADS volunteer day with her co-workers. They are great, and I get really excited when we pull up on their street!
This month we have been working on “bed” and staying there even if my raiser walks away. She even brought me a special folding bed for when we are out and about. This is still a work in progress as you never know when she will need to be rescued or lonely in the bathroom. I also gave her a really nice surprise this month with a beautiful “side” on cue, and we are still working on here and heel as they kind of sound the same. Our class had our summer BBQ which was lots of fun, and I got to meet some of the little baby puppies. Our trainer Nicole gave our raisers some really special cups, but I’m sure it’s meant to be mine as it’s got my name on it.
I also got to meet my Dad this month, as Cleat, Electra, York and myself all went to watch our raisers do something called Pound for the MOVE campaign, and I was a little sad that I couldn’t join my raiser during the dancing. I like it when she dances, and I get a really wiggly body. We then went for lunch, where there were 7 PADS puppies with their raisers.
Finally, to top off the month, my raiser took me to my first cinema experience. I did really well alternating between staring at her and sleeping, I have no idea what we watched LOL.
Well everyone, I’m off to enjoy the sunshine, see you next month!
