Trek is now 4 months old and is growing like a weed! He weighs 36 pounds, which is more than double his weight when he came home last month. He is able to keep with the other dogs on our off-leash walks. He loves to play, play, play and sometimes needs to have a break in his kennel when he overdoes it. We have been working on loose leash walking to send in a video for Virtual Grad this month. Trek did great with checking in and keeping pace with me.
At Zoom puppy class, we talked about the importance of doing regular checks of our dogs to get them used to handling and for early detection of skin issues. Part of the exam can be done with the dogs on their backs, which is a great position for trimming nails. Trek quickly got the hang of relaxing on his back by me using pressure when he struggled and releasing the pressure when he relaxed.
