December is my new favourite month.

I went to Ryder’s (he’s a percussionist) Christmas Band Concert at Carson Graham High School – music to my nose. I really enjoyed myself and at this one very quiet moment when the conductor stopped talking, I said out loud, how much I was enjoying it all. It was a very short yowl, like the one at the end of a good yawn. Everyone in the gym laughed. And then Chuck said, β€œTime to go!” And we listened from outside the gym from then on. So many people at the concert walked near us and said – β€œooooh, awe, sooo cute… a PUPpy!?!”  …yup I AM A PUPPY, a very good human, you know your animals.

It was Ryder and Perry’s birthdays Dec 6th and 7th. We went to the Keg in West Van, we were out so late and I got sleepy so for the last part, Ryder helped me nap. I love the Keg – I found all sorts of yummy stuff under the table. I recommend the drink coasters …a very nice texture and just a really good chew. It was very interesting when we walked through the restaurant to/from our table on the patio ( I had to make a few trips) there would be those words again; low toned voices…. ooohs, awes ….look – so cute!… oooh, a PADS one, Ooooh, my…’ All very hushed, like they were talking about a celebrity but didn’t want the celebrity to know they were talking about them, yet they kind of did want the celebrity to know so the celebrity would know they matter. I wonder who it was that was there? They must be very special because whoever it was, made lots of people smile and feel happy.

I went to the dentist with Chuck for her teeth cleaning appointment. It’s very noisy, hisses and succcck- tion and weeeezes and neeeeows and rattatatt tat (Chuck said that was an air compressor). But none of it bothered me. Here I am with hygienist Megan, (she says it’s just fine to use her picture in the published pupdate). She is holding the same tube that she and Chuck kept sticking in Chuck’s mouth. Odd, a tool that takes things OUT of one’s mouth?! That’s really kind of stupid, a waste of resources I would think, but whatever…to each species their own way. We went to the dentist a few days before also. The dental tech who took measurements from Chuck’s teeth said she and her family have a PADS VIP dog who is her son’s bestie, and we talked about lots of PADS things including how she wrote her thesis on assistance/institution dogs in schools and the workplace. They keep in touch with VIP Dog’s puppy raisers ever since getting her 5 years ago because she says (with a tear and compassionate voice, [Chuck’s words]), she knows how very special their bond is.

Every second week we go to puppy class via Zoom. I watch the class on screen and pick up a great deal.

Ryder, Chuck and I brought Lions Gate Hospital ER Staff Cinnamon buns on Christmas Day. Triage Nurse Emily (left in the mask) invited the others to see me and be in the photo. They are so kind to work on Christmas Day and with smiles even though they had 3+ hours left in their shift.

Chuck said how nice it was to be four sharing the cozy comforts of Christmas morning at our house. I loved stocking time.

Three humans and me- a warm puppy, under the tree. Can’t get any better than that.
