Sunday, September 8th saw a lively crowd gathered for a block party in the parking lot of the renown Gabi & Jules pie shop in Port Moody. The fundraiser was the brainchild of owners Lisa and Patrick Beecroft, who are both committed to giving back to the community.
Gabi & Jules is named after Lisa and Patrick’s daughters Gabriela and Juliana. The family is passionate about—and exceptionally successful at—creating exceptional pies and baked goodness in a collaborative environment inclusive of individuals of all abilities. The desire to create an inclusive work environment was motivated by daughter Juliana, who has autism.
The idea for a fundraiser was born after watching the interactions between Juliana and PADS dogs brought to the shop by long-time PADS volunteer Ken Arnold. Knowing that PADS places VIP dogs with children with Autism, and seeing first hand the impact that PADS dogs have on their own daughter, Lisa and Patrick got to work.
And work they did – they set a goal of raising $20K to sponsor a litter of PADS puppies – raffles, silent auction, tickets, and more… the inaugural event SOLD OUT!! Stay tuned and watch this page for a final fundraising total.
THANK YOU LISA, PATRICK, GABI & JULES FOR YOUR EXTRAORDINARY SUPPORT!
