Brian Ness

Brian Ness is the recipient of the 2019 Verne Trevoy Award.

Brian is a semi-retired engineer and began supporting PADS in 2017 as part of his repertoire of activities. He is an avid hunter and has long been a member of Ducks Unlimited. He and his wife, Jackie, raised export puppy Tor from the Glacier Litter, and are presently Sitters for PADS. Brian took on the role of “Maintenance” for our new Facility in Calgary, overseeing the entire side yard construction (landing, stairs, patio, toileting yard, weed control, sidewalk, metal storage shed, lighting, and security), plus the innumerable small jobs that come up inside (wall patching, painting, gate construction, bathroom switches, window grouting), and recently helped to lay the rubber flooring tiles that transformed our flooring into a safe, dynamic training space. His current project is to complete the fencing around the shed and toileting yard, to increase our security and provide the dogs with a defined, safe space alongside our Facility. If we need anything renovated, repaired, or maintained, Brian is always ready to organize a work party to “git ‘er done.”
