OVERVIEW
The Vice President, Fundraising, Communications & Volunteers (VP, FCV) leads the teams responsible for building and managing relationships in order to further PADS’ mission. The VP, FCV is responsible for driving revenue growth, strengthening brand awareness, and leading volunteer engagement. Reporting to the CEO, and as a key contributor to PADS’ Senior Leadership Team, the VP, FCV will nurture existing and help forge new relationships to build PADS’ visibility, impact and financial resources. The VP, FCV will collaborate with the Senior Manager, Volunteer Services to develop strategies to recruit, retain and recognize volunteers, who power 90% of PADS’ programs. The VP, FCV will collaborate with and support the CEO to drive significant financial growth and brand awareness.

ABOUT THE POSITION
Major Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement multi-year fundraising, communications and volunteer strategies; set annual KPIs and report progress to the Executive Team and Board.
- Revenue Growth: Oversee individual giving, corporate partnerships, grants, and event-based fundraising; ensure diversification and sustainability of revenue streams.
- Marketing & Communications: Provide strategic direction for brand management, digital marketing, media relations, and internal communications; ensure integrated campaigns that support fundraising and program goals.
- Donor Stewardship & Recognition: Establish best practices for donor engagement, recognition, and retention; ensure personalized stewardship plans for major donors and partners.
- Volunteer Engagement: Support Senior Manager, Volunteer Services to build a robust volunteer program that enhances organizational capacity and community engagement.
- Budget & Resource Management: Develop and manage departmental budgets; monitor performance and ensure cost-effective operations.
- Data & Reporting: Oversee CRM systems and analytics; ensure accurate tracking of donor and campaign performance; produce reports for leadership and funders.
- Risk & Compliance: Ensure adherence to ethical fundraising standards, privacy (PIPA), CASL, and accessibility requirements.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Represent PADS at events and in the community; cultivate relationships with donors, partners, and media.
- Team Leadership & Development: Lead and mentor managers and staff; foster a collaborative, high-performance culture; implement succession planning.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
Technical Qualifications
- 10+ years in fundraising or communications leadership, with proven success in revenue generation and brand strategy
- Expertise in individual giving, corporate partnerships, grant writing, capital campaigns, events and donor stewardship
- Proficiency in MS 365 and CRM systems (Salesforce considered an asset)
- Strong knowledge of marketing, digital platforms, and analytics
- Strong knowledge and experience in donor-centric communications
- Experience with organizations whose programs are significant supported by a volunteer community
- Experience in media relations and/or public relations an asset Understanding of Canadian/BC compliance standards: CASL, PIPA, and accessibility principles
- Valid driver’s licence; ability to travel within BC and AB; occasional evening/weekend commitment

Location: Burnaby, BC
Employment Type: Full-time
Work Arrangement: Based at our Burnaby Campus in a standard office setting, hybrid work a possibility.
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7.5 hours per day, with the occasional additional evenings and weekends.
Compensation: $110 – $120K annually as a starting salary based on a 37.5-hour work week. A benefits package is available after the 3-month probation period.
