Meet Zen and his partner Cst. Michele McKnight. Together they work at VPD Employee Wellness Unit, supporting the Vancouver Police Department. We are so proud of this placement as we know that police officers are at a higher risk of stress, anxiety and depression due to the nature of their work. Zen works as part of the Wellness Unit to help relieve some of this stress and it’s long term consequences.
Zen was whelped in the Lower Mainland and then headed off to the Okanagan throughout his time as a puppy in training. In puppy-raising Zen lived with two families, first with Alanna and Dave and then moving on toΒ Pam & Rob until he was old enough to return to the Lower Mainland to join Margaret on our Burnaby campus for advanced training.
We are so excited to see this placement blossom as time goes on and to continue to hear the amazing stories of impact this team is having on everyone they meet.
