River has found her Furever Home as a Very Important Pet!
The Murphy family were obvious qualifiers for a VIP. When Gerard, a Vancouver firefighter, arrives home after a harrowing shift, the tail-wagging, joyous River, greets him. Jeanette is a part-time kindergarten teacher who has Type 1 Diabetes and says, “River’s enthusiasm for the outdoors motivates me to get outside and keep active regardless of the weather. When 11 year old Julia is anxious about school, Jeanette says, “River and Julia walk and snuggle and just generally ground each other with love.” And River has brought 9 year old Robyn, who struggles with insecurity, a sense of calm, responsibility and self-confidence.
River has explored, Tofino, the Gulf Islands, Sunshine Coast and the North Shore Mountains with his active family.
