DAX is one of the newest Island recruits this month and settled into island life nicely! He is spending lots of time getting to know Rob and starting introduction service skills and enjoys picking things up, even when he has not been asked. Dax is enjoying making new friends with Vimy and his brother Daegan and getting to know the volunteers who assist Rob. When he is not training, he enjoys walks around the neighborhood and playtime with Daegan and Vimy.
- Skills being learned: ‘Light’ and ‘switch’, ‘push.’
- Recent field trips: Local library and off-leash dog park, Downtown Nanaimo, various additional training field trips.
- Possible behavior challenges: Taking items such as dishtowels without being asked.
- Potential career path: Service
