Ashley is very proud of the leaps and bounds CHESS has taken over the past month! Chess has gained more energy and drive after losing some weight.Β  She has figured out how to offer behaviors confidently once a target or touch stick has been removed and learned her first two skills of β€˜push’ and β€˜button’! Chess has also made strong progress with her challenge of not wanting to come in from the yard as well as improvement surrounding her collar aversion. Ashley and her volunteer helpers have also been running all dogs through Ashley’s β€œobstacle courses” that have the dog practice default β€˜leave its’, obedience, skills, walking on different surfaces, proprioception, and strengthening exercises. Chess enjoyed some nice rest and relaxation with her sitter over the holiday break and is keen to get working again in the new year!

  • Skills being learned: β€˜Tug’, β€˜light’, β€˜open the door’, β€˜my lap’, β€˜behind’, retrieve foundations.
  • Recent field trips: Canada Games Pool, 8 Rinks, various additional training field trips.
  • Possible behavior challenges: Alert barking in the home.
  • Potential career path: Service

Thank you again for all your support of Advanced Dog Chess!
