Pal II loved the snow we had this December until he walked onto the road or salt-covered sidewalk. He would stop and look at me with his sad eyes. I took a few wipes of his pads with my hand, moving him into the soft powder, and he was off again, running along the snow-covered trails. Pal became my shopping buddy, baking and gift-wrapping supervisor and my hand warmer as we prepared for Christmas. Pal was super chill on Christmas eve and Christmas day, even though adults and children were coming and going. He would sniff at the gifts under the tree but never tried to steal any of them. I guess none of them were socks! Pal can’t resist socks! We only have a few more weeks before Pal hopefully moves on to advanced training. I think he’s ready to take on a new challenge.
