We expect excellence from ourselves and our team, but we have fun too. Pacific Assistance Dogs Society (PADS) breeds, raises and trains fully certified assistance dogs. Our service (mobility & PTSD) and hearing dogs provide life-changing independence to those with disabilities other than blindness. Our accredited facility dogs work with community professionals, such as teachers, RCMP and psychologists to help support wellness in our community.
We’re proud to be the first fully accredited member of Assistance Dogs International in Canada.
ABOUT THE POSITION
Are you passionate about digital storytelling, social media strategy, and making a difference? Join Pacific Assistance Dogs Society (PADS) as our Digital Communications Coordinator and help us amplify our mission of empowering people with life-changing assistance dogs!
What You’ll Do
As the Digital Communications Coordinator, you’ll take charge of PADS’ digital presence, crafting compelling content, engaging with our community, and driving our mission forward online. This dynamic role combines creativity, strategy, and analytics to bring our brand to life.
- Digital Content Creation: Manage social media, develop engaging posts, and collaborate on multimedia content.
- Digital Advertising: Support our resource development through digital ad campaigns (SEM, PPC, SMM, etc)
- Website Management: Keep our website fresh, user-friendly, and optimized for SEO.
- Analytics & Reporting: Measure what matters—track performance, analyze data, and inform strategy.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with our Communications & Development team to align digital efforts with larger goals.
- Community Engagement: Be the voice of PADS online, building meaningful connections with supporters.
What We’re Looking For
Technical Skills
- Social media mastery (e.g., Metricool, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn).
- Digital Advertising Experience – current Google Certifications are preferred.
- Website management (WordPress, Funraisin).
- Basic graphic design (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite).
- Knowledge of digital accessibility and SEO best practices.
- Experience with Salesforce is an asset.
Soft Skills
- Exceptional writing, editing, and creativity.
- Excellent interpersonal skills – we’re a small but scrappy team and bend and flex to support each other!
- Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
- A collaborative mindset with a knack for visual storytelling.
Experience & Education
- 2+ years in digital communications or a related field (non-profit experience a bonus!).
- Post-secondary degree in journalism, communications, digital marketing, or similar.
- Google Certifications (Preferred)

This is an in person or hybrid position working out of our Burnaby, BC or Calgary, AB Campus. Most of the time, work is scheduled from Monday to Friday, 7.5 hours per day, from 9 am to 5 pm with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break. There may occasionally be a need to work evenings or weekends.
There is occasional interaction and physical contact with dogs that are in advanced training and puppies visiting the PADS campus.
COMPENSATION
The compensation range for this Full-Time, permanent role is $54,000–$60,000/year + comprehensive benefits after the 3-month probation period.
