Getting Started 

Welcome 

We’re excited to have you join us online. Please fully read this page before diving in! 
Each PADS volunteer is issued a @hydrant.pads.ca email account (which you are welcome to forward to your preferred address). We are often asked if a couple can share one account, we cannot accommodate this because some of the tools (i.e. event sign up registration, course tracking/completion, etc) must be done by each volunteer individually.

STEP 1: Set up your @hydrant.pads.ca e-mail

Input the login information we sent you in the original email

If you ever need to reset your password on this account, it will send the password reset to the personal email address you provided in your application.

STEP 2: Set your password

You will be asked to input a new password (we recommend the use of upper and lower case letters, numbers, etc to ensure it’s secure)

STEP 3: Log in to your Hydrant account

Click the button at the end of these instructions and input your login information

Your username is you @hydrant.pads.ca e-mail you just set up, and your password can be found in the initial e-mail that was sent to you

Please change your password to something unique to you once are logged in.

STEP 4: UPDATE YOUR PROFILE

Click the round icon in the top right corner beside the search button, this is your profile image.

Within your profile, you can load a photo of yourself (square) and a cover image (930x230px). PLEASE do not make your profile image a puppy – while we adore them if all 400 people that are going to use this site used their black or yellow labs we’d have a hard time telling them apart (which is why the profile images exist). While using a photo of yourself is not mandatory, we ask that you choose something other than a dog.

Add a bio – you can say whatever you want – but tell your fellow volunteers something about you!

STEP 5: GET TO KNOW HYDRANT

The Hydrant is here for your benefit – and your participation will only make it better. You will gain access to different parts of the hydrant as you are approved. For example, you will not have access to the entire puppy raising part of the website until you are an approved puppy raiser/sitter for PADS.
