Bork, bork, awooo. Hello to all my furiends and hoomans. My raisers have told me these are the βDog days of summer.β Iβm not sure what that means, but it sure has been hot! Because we doggos donβt do heat well, my raiser makes sure that we are up early and out for our walkies before the path, sidewalks and roads get too hot for our feet. Yes, my pads are tough from all the hard work, walking and running, but they still can blister if I stand on hot surfaces for too long. When I get back, I get to run in the yard and splash in the doggo pool to cool down.
My hoomans have been trying to keep me busy and have taken me to the stores where I can practice my cues and stay cool. Even in my house, I get to practice. The other day, actually, it was spawday, I showed my raiser that I am accountable for my behaviour even when they are not watching me. I had to wait my turn to have my nails trimmed while my pawdicurist went to check on PADS Fernie and her 5 new buppies living in my basement. She left all the great treatoos on the table at prime snoofiling level. But I was a good puppy by staying on my bed, ignoring the kibs, and waiting for my nail trim. My hoomans were really happy with me because I decided on the right thing.
So, it has been early morning walks, visits to the cool stores to practice cues, public behaviour, distraction, durations and working on my tan on the deck. Do black dogs really tan?
Well furiends, thatβs it for this month. My raisers have told me they have wonderful news for me and that I would have to be patient. I donβt know what the news is, but my hoomans are really excited.
Until next time. Keep your kibble pouch full and your four on the floor. Awoooβ¦
You can keep up with me on Facebook @ PADS Alcy.
