Every month I get to do new things! This month I had an eye test which all my fellow PADS pups in-training got to do as well. It made me pretty squinty for a while but the good news is my eyes are in great shape. Afterwards, I went with my human to her eye test and she was pretty squinty for a while too! Now that summer is over, I’m having to learn that puddles and rain can be fun, but I’m not sure I’m completely convinced yet. My human gives me lots of kibbles for walking through puddles though, so that makes it easier. I’ve also got to go on a few field trips with my fellow PADS pups to parks where we’ve been training together outside of class. It’s hard work but it’s also really fun to get to see my friends!

In class, I can now do a stand on cue! This is something I’ve been working on for a really long time, so my human got very excited the first time I did it. Now I can do it almost all the time. I’m learning that it’s important to keep my front feet still when I do things going from a down to a sit or a sit to a stand. If I’m lucky enough to become a service dog for someone in a wheelchair someday, that will mean I stay lined up with my person’s chair and won’t be sticking out where they’ll have more difficulty handling me. It’s not easy, but I have a special foam pad that I use to practice and that makes it kinda fun!
