Hi everypawdy!
It’s been a busy month of training. Mom says I need to work on my “environmental distractions” which means we’ve been going to dog parks. Sounds great right, no it’s not. We go and wait in between the gates and watch all the other dogs running around, coming up to the fence wanting to play with me. We stay there for a while and then we leave, and I do not get to go and play. I think that’s rude, don’t you?
Another place we go is to different pet stores. We have been going once or twice a week lately, and I think I’m getting a little better.
We’ve met a few different PADS friends for dog distraction walks, and again, no playing. Mom is being super strict. We have been for coffee & shopping, we even ran into PADS Thresher at the mall. I was with PADS Lohn and boy did the three of us attract some attention. Of course, I have had some off-leash time to “empty my bucket”, as my cousin Clark (not for real cousin) came to the cabin and we got to go for a really nice long off-leash walk.
Released PADS VIP Dory has been staying with us for a few weeks, and we’ve been having fun together. She thinks I’m a little fast for her, but I’m a baby compared to her.Β
I’ve been to Douglas College a couple of times, and one of the vet techs called me an “angel” and mom laughed.
Our puppy class had a Halloween party, and I went as a butterfly, and mom as a butterfly catcher. We played some fun games, and we didn’t win any prizes but I got to see my friends all dressed up.
My PADS friend Lohn & I went to the pumpkin patch, mom called it another training opportunity, hmm. Of course, the month ended on Halloween, and mom & I dressed up again and the kids thought I was so cute. I’m really good with the fireworks, mom says it’s a big relief, Dory is not a fan of them so I’ve been staying close to keep her calm.
Some exciting things are happening in November, starting with my birthday, so you’ll have to wait for the next Pupdate to see how I celebrated.
Bye for now,
Maia
