Russet is growing like a weed! He has outgrown his medium-sized kennel and size small vest. However, he can still fit through the cat door so we had to make some adjustments using zip ties (as shown in the photo). This month Russet did some pre-Christmas shopping at CrossIron Mills mall, visited a doctor’s office, and started having play dates with a friend’s 8-month old lab.

At puppy class, Russet is learning to be comfortable lying on his back and while being restrained. These are foundational skills for doing nail trims and visits to the vet. At home, he is working on relaxing and playing on his own. It is important for assistance dogs to have a nice “off switch” while their handler is otherwise occupied.
