Vimy and I were walking through the woods at Cates Park (on leash). We paused to let him sniff something wonderful (isn’t everything?). His head was very near the gnarly base of a maple tree when a small chipmunk peeked around the trunk at him. He noticed the chipmunk but didn’t move – just watched. Then the chipmunk moved towards him until it was a foot away and still Vimy stayed put!! Even better, he looked up at me, and then back at the chipmunk and then back to me. By that time the chipmunk had gone – and Vimy the wonder dog got a facefull of treats!! Unexpected and great moment! And then also – here is a photo his sitter took of his magnificent tongue in action! On a boat.
