VIMY II has been introduced to his new stability harness and is being assessed for a possible career as a Bracing service dog. As a Bracing dog, he would act as a moving stability support for a potential client, assisting with ascending and descending stairs, as well as other stabilizing as needed. He is practicing all his skills and cues while wearing the bracing gear and seems quite happy to get treats for holding a nice ‘stand’ and getting used to laying down with the new gear on.

  • Skills being learned: Practicing retrieve with more difficult items like bottles, keys and wallets.
  • Recent field trips: Parksville Boardwalk, various local malls, local aquatic center, various other training field trips.
  • Possible behavior challenges: N/A
  • Potential career path: Service/Bracing

Thank you again for all your support of Advanced Dog Vimy!
